Who I Am

My Story

I have always been passionate about art. Perhaps because I was inspired by my father, an artist not by training, but by soul. He was a painter, sculptor, architect, musician and philosopher who always gave us works of art that he created. One of these gifts was a sculpture that he affectionately called "favelinha". With his passing, I felt an enormous desire to continue his work.

By reinterpreting my father's creation and combining it with my experience with models, the "Fragments of Villages" Project emerged. A fragment, a piece, a focused view of any village. As I collected tree trunks, twigs and leaves from the streets, I became increasingly aware that this dead material could become a living work of art. Everything in my eyes was "transformable". Papers became houses. Tree trunks were used to build neighborhoods with their narrow streets. Pebbles were actually large rocks. Leafy trees were born from dried bunches of grapes and twigs. And by combining all these elements, a dream emerged.

I felt the need to share this dream with people. First with my family and friends. They loved it! Then with people outside my social circle and family.

"Charming," they said! And I never stopped.

As an architect, I dedicated myself to transforming models into sculptures, where I discovered yet another way to express all the uniqueness and memories that live not only in the imagination, but in the hearts of so many: bucolic scenes of Brazilian farms, childhood swings, the villages and favelas, typical of large cities.

In my works, I use sculpture and architecture techniques, with proportion and aesthetics, in addition to applying the simplicity of handmade art, collage and molding, typical of Brazilian popular art.
